Protecting the Tools That Feed Thousands
Every year, our farm depends on dozens of machines that quietly work behind the scenes. They may not be as visible as our children, volunteers, rabbits, chickens, or greenhouses, but they are just as important.
These machines allow a small staff to accomplish the work of many people, making it possible for Global Food Providers to grow more food, feed more families, train more leaders, and operate efficiently.
Without maintenance, productivity drops dramatically.
The Power of Multiplication
Consider our Case Skid Steer.
A single operator can complete in one hour what would otherwise require two employees working an entire eight-hour day.
That is a productivity increase of approximately 16 to 1.
Instead of spending an entire day pushing wheelbarrows, moving compost, hauling gravel, loading manure, clearing land, transporting soil, or preparing greenhouse beds, our team can accomplish those same tasks in a fraction of the time.
That means our staff can spend more time:
- Growing nutritious food
- Feeding children
- Training local leaders
- Serving widows and families
- Expanding our community outreach
When that machine is down for repairs, those sixteen hours of productive work disappear almost immediately.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our annual maintenance budget is $3,600.
We need 12 people who will become Maintenance Partners at $25 per month. That's $300 per year x 12 people = $3,600.
Every Machine Has a Purpose
Every tool on our farm multiplies our ability to serve.
Examples include:
| Equipment | Impact |
|---|---|
| Case Skid Steer | Earthmoving, compost, manure, greenhouse preparation, construction, heavy lifting |
| Chainsaw | Clearing trees, storm cleanup, firewood, property maintenance |
| Weed Eater | Maintaining hundreds of meters of pathways and growing areas |
| Rototiller | Preparing planting beds quickly and efficiently |
| Generator | Keeping critical operations functioning during power outages |
| Commercial Slicers & Dicers | Processing vegetables for dehydration |
| Powderizers | Creating our nutrient-dense Superfood powders |
| Pelletizer | Developing future livestock feed and nutritional products |
| Dehydrators | Preserving thousands of pounds of fresh produce that would otherwise spoil |
| Water Pumps & Irrigation Equipment | Delivering life-giving water to crops every day |
| Backpack Fertilizer Sprayers | Feeding our plants with organic sustainable nutrients |
Each machine increases our productive capacity.
Each machine reduces manual labor.
Each machine allows us to accomplish far more than would otherwise be possible.
Preventive Maintenance Saves Money
Routine maintenance is one of the wisest investments we can make.
Changing hydraulic oil. Replacing bearings. Sharpening blades. Servicing engines. Replacing belts before they fail. These relatively small expenses prevent catastrophic breakdowns that can cost thousands of dollars and stop ministry operations during critical harvest seasons.
A well-maintained machine can serve faithfully for decades. A neglected machine often becomes an expensive replacement.
