The total cost of raising a baby chick for 24 weeks in our highly secured facility is $15.00. After she grows strong and gets her feathers, we begin to collect her eggs to provide much-needed protein for our children's feeding programs. Each chicken will eventually lay an egg per day, providing protein, fats, and nutrients to the diet of those malnourished. Each chicken will lay 912 eggs in 2.5 years. That's 76 dozen eggs!
Panama is suffering from 26.5% +++ unemployment as Latin America has been rocked by 269% increase in famine because of the former Covid destruction of the economy. Indigenous unemployment is 90+%. Unemployed people buy survival carbohydrates (rice) because protein is too expensive. We are here with vital egg protein to make a difference during these difficult times. Your support directly helps a struggling family and their children!
Our goal is to lead the way to make our community “Food Secure” and resilient against future lockdowns, catastrophes, rising food prices, and joblessness leading to hunger. Your partnership is greatly appreciated and is tax-deductible if you are a U.S. taxpayer.
Our chicken laying house holds 400 chickens. Here is a current photo of the project.
Thanks for your support!
*Note: If you want to sponsor 5, 10, 20, 50 chickens, or more, simply add the number of this $15.00 purchase to your cart. It will add up to your total purchase. Remember that your purchase is really a donation.
*Note: The price of chicken feed and chicks have gone up over the past year. The cost to raise that chicken to an egg-laying hen is now $15. Thanks for your understanding.
