You can donate $5, $10, $20, or any amount you choose to sponsor a chicken. Your chicken will feed poor families for over 2.5 years with an egg per day, providing protein and essential fats needed to stay healthy and strong.
Our chicken program consists of 400 egg-laying, free-range, antibiotic- and hormone-free chickens, who provide us with around 30 dozen eggs per day. We have eggs in our kids' meals to provide much-needed protein, which most of them don't normally get. Why? Protein is expensive, but rice is cheap and more affordable when you have no money. This is why we focus on protein for kids in all of our feeding programs.
Your $5, $10 or $1,000 is greatly appreciated. All donations are tax-deductible in the USA. You can add $5 x 5 for $25, or $5 x 10 for $50.
The chicken facility cost us $15,000 before we ever bought a chicken. Buying a baby chick, caring for and feeding her for 6 months before she lays eggs, costs around $35. Then the costs continue while feeding and caring for the chickens as they lay eggs. Raising chickens is an expensive task, and your partnership is greatly appreciated. We feed our chickens 100 lbs of specialized feed per day, plus they free range to find bugs, plants, and more. We also feed them lots of superfoods from our greenhouse. They are healthy, happy, and lay the best eggs in Panama!
