Grand Opening – Chiriqui, Panama Dehydration Center

We had a wonderful grand opening of our prototype farm and dehydration center in Chiriqui, Panama July 13, 2019. Hundreds of people showed up for food, face painting, farm tours and a dedication service complete with local music ministry, a brief explanation of the vision and a special message from Dr. Don Matison who put the original message into Dr. Daves – “Food Is Power. And Whoever Has The Food Has The Power.” Dr. Matison has been a long time colleague of Dr. Daniel and Tracy for decades and it was a pleasure to have him in Panama for the event. Other partners who came from many locations include Ralph & Joyce Poupart and Milli Myers. Scott & Vicki Heiser did a wonderful job providing all of the food and service for 300 meals and the Global Food Providers team prepared the facilities and helped with individual guided tours. Cristy Tello provided translation services for the entire day. Max who is the building construction manager provided a special song and Raydel and his music team from David, Panama provided special worship music during the service. Steven Fox and the entire Red Cross volunteer team came with trucks, a portable emergency medical tent to show their capacity with search and rescue as well as medical services. Steve has also provided critical help in the construction of the center from beginning to end.

The weather miraculously held off providing wonderful cool cloud cover and no rain. This almost never happens, but it was a gift from the Lord to all on this wonderful day.

The dehydration facility is nearly complete with the 500 lb per day capacity machine fully installed and functioning. Future construction will allow the facility to be licensed for exporting fruits and vegetables to the most needy outside the nation of Panama.

We want to thank all of our supporters who graciously gave precious funds and hard work into the dehydration center to bring it to completion. Your donations have began something that will carry forward into the future internationally.
