Annual. Harvest in 100-115 days
Seeds are used to flavor Mexican and Indian dishes.
Fragrant, ferny foliage is similar to dill. Young leaves make a nice addition to salad mixes.
Grows best in warmer areas, but will produce seeds in northern areas if started early. Start cumin seeds indoors approximately two months prior to the last anticipated frost.
Cumin is one of those plants that grows chaotically, and there is no need to worry about how far apart each seed is. Plant seedlings in a sunny spot in the garden in good soil approximately 3 to 4 inches apart. Be sure to continue a regular watering of the plants and keep the area weeded. The cumin grows to about 12 inches (30.5cm) in height.
