Danvers were developed in 1871 in Danvers, Massachusetts.

'Danvers' is generally ready for harvest in 70 days.  The root is a rich, dark orange and 7-7.5" long, 2-2.5" across, and tapers to a blunt end. Excellent flavor, sweet & stores well. Has a very high fiber content. It grows well in heavy soils, and can remain in the soil long after maturity and still be good for eating.
